Associate Ta Phuong Thao has a background in corporate legal affairs, internal governance and legal compliance. She focuses on advising businesses on legal matters arising from their operations, including the development and review of contract systems, internal procedures, corporate governance and ongoing compliance throughout the course of business.
Throughout her legal career, Ms. Thao has directly participated in drafting, reviewing and standardising contracts, documents and internal procedures, while also assisting businesses in completing legal documentation, carrying out licensing procedures and working with regulatory authorities on matters relating to enterprise registration, employment and social insurance. This experience enables her to adopt a practical approach to legal issues that regularly arise in the day-to-day operations of businesses.
In addition to ongoing corporate advisory work, Ms. Thao has experience in legal compliance management and control, risk assessment and coordinating the handling of legal issues arising from business operations. She also participates in dispute resolution support and matters requiring legal risk assessments, with a focus on helping businesses maintain compliance, enhance internal governance efficiency and minimise disruption to business operations.
Drawing on her practical experience in corporate legal affairs and internal operations, Ms. Thao contributes to strengthening HM&P’s advisory capabilities in corporate, governance and compliance matters, as well as in addressing legal issues arising from clients’ day-to-day operations. She was granted her lawyer practising certificate in 2026 and joined HM&P as part of the firm’s strategy to develop a specialised professional team capable of meeting the increasingly complex legal needs of businesses.
