Counsel Nguyen Van Dong is a professional with many years of experience in finance, securities, capital markets and corporate transactions. At HM&P, he focuses on advising on mergers & acquisitions (M&A), IPOs and listings, corporate restructuring, capital raising, finance and strategic matters relating to corporate development. His combined background in business law and banking and finance enables him to approach transactions not only from a legal perspective, but also from financial, commercial and strategic perspectives.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Dong has held various key positions at companies operating in the securities, investment and real estate sectors, including Viet Dragon Securities Corporation and Thang Loi Group. He is currently the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DHV Consulting and Investment Company Limited, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company. His experience across financial markets, corporate governance and investment advisory provides him with deep practical insight into how businesses mobilise resources, implement growth strategies and address complex issues arising throughout their development.
Mr. Dong also has extensive experience in cross-border cooperation and M&A transactions. Through many years of working with domestic and international partners and investors, he has developed an extensive network within the business and international investment communities, particularly in Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore. This background enables him to connect relevant stakeholders, assess investment opportunities and advise on transaction structures aligned with clients’ commercial objectives.
In addition to his advisory work, Mr. Dong has authored numerous professional articles and analyses on corporate governance, M&A and the development of Vietnam’s capital markets. His areas of commentary have included challenges in corporate group governance for Vietnamese businesses, M&A trends in the real estate sector and the role of M&A in corporate growth. He also holds a Financial Analysis Practising Certificate issued by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.
In June 2024, Mr. Dong was officially appointed as Counsel at HM&P. Drawing on his expertise in finance, securities, M&A and capital markets, he supports HM&P in developing comprehensive solutions for clients, particularly in transactions requiring the integration of legal, financial and business strategy perspectives.
